Thats cute~
This tank is called “That’s Cute~”, and it’s a phrase I say all the time — but not in the typical way people might expect. For me, “that’s cute” isn’t about something being adorable or dainty — it’s a shorthand for “I like that. I see you. That hits.” It’s my version of a nod, a smirk, a stamp of approval.
This was one of the first shirts I made where I played with bold color — the red hearts were a brand new step for me. I’d been sticking to black and white for most of my early pieces, and working red into this design felt like letting a little more of my full self peek through: louder, riskier, maybe a little more flirty than I usually allow myself to be.
The typography is intentionally playful — soft, chunky, and slightly off-balance — because I wanted it to feel like the phrase sounds when I say it out loud. That little tilde at the end? It’s not just there for decoration. That’s my signature. A little extra flair. A little tongue-in-cheek sass that lets people know I’m not just saying it — I mean it.
All of the art in my shirts — if you see any drawing or hand-shaped graphic — is done by me, the old-school way. Pen to paper. I don’t source it. I don’t AI it. I draw it. I digitize it. I press it myself. Everything you see came through my hands first.
This piece is part of a larger effort to put parts of myself into wearable form — phrases I use, moods I’ve been in, things I’ve felt and survived. It might look simple, but it carries a lot: my first use of color, a phrase I live by, and a declaration that even the quietest approvals can be bold.
