“Cuánto Cuesta” — Spanish for “How much?” — might sound like a simple question, but if you know my friend Rod, you know it’s something else entirely. It’s how he greets people. A catchphrase. A conversation starter. A running joke. And for me, a moment frozen in time that deserved to be worn.

This design is the first piece in what I now call my Friends Series — shirts I create that are inspired by the people who’ve shown up in my life in deep and meaningful ways. Rod is Cuban, I’m Mexican, and the vibe is meant to feel like something you’d see painted on the side of a food cart, a corner shop, or a delivery van in the heart of a bustling street. It’s bold, handmade, a little retro — like it’s been there forever. There’s a rhythm to the way the words sit, like it’s meant to be said out loud, with a smile and a head nod.
